THE SPACE RACE

Our data encompasses satellites, probes, landers, crewed spacecraft, and space station elements launched into Earth's orbit or beyond. Collected from national registers submitted to the UN, it covers approximately 88% of all global launches.

Our collection of visualizations and analyses offers a unique perspective on how the frequency of space launches has transformed across distinct epochs. As we traverse the chronicles of human spaceflight, these graphics shed light on patterns, surges, and shifts in launch numbers that have propelled us from the early space race to the collaborative international efforts of today.
